Young MVB was established to be a group of apprentices and as an orchestra in which the youngsters are able to develop themselves. It is also meant to be a younger copy of the Show– and Marchingband MVB. The uniform and instruments are the same. The members of Young MVB range in age from appr. 8 years till 15 years old.
Development
The ensure quality we maintain and follow the rules and requirements give by Kunstfactor (the former Unisono). Every two years our members will have to take their theoretical and practical exams raning in levels from A to D.
In order to be able to play at Young MVB, the A-level is required. All the new members of Young MVB need to pass their exams as soon as possible.
Performances
The performance of Young MVB are the same as those of the show- and marchingband; parades, shows, serenades…
We also try to live up to the relaxation-aspect; a cinema-visit, a danceparty, the annual autumn-camp and ofcourse the annual individual demonstration!
Instruments
The members of Young MVB play trumpet, trombone, tuba (euphonium), sousaphone, flute, saxophone or percussion. The brass and wood (general musical) director is Ramon Kusters and percussion director is Alain Garnier. The orchestra consists of appr. 35 members.
Young MVB has proven to be a success, they blew al the judges away at the national band contest in 2006:
- Show: K3-naline (based on themes of the popular youth-group K3)(R. Spons), 85 points (1st price)
- Marching: At Once (R. Balfoort) and Royal Salute (R.Waterer), 87 points (1st price)
- Drum-Major price for Tey Frantzen
- Highest overall ranking during the whol competition.
